Doc’s Journey - Torre

Torre meeting Matty

Torre meeting Matty

When I woke up today, I did my usual breakfast with Greg and his coffee. I don’t understand what it is with his coffee but he loves his coffee in the morning. Right before Greg left for work, he and Ann were talking about a Torre. Then I heard them talking about a Torre and a Matty. I don’t know what either of those are but the Powers made it sound like fun was coming.

Ann took me out to the garden again. She sure loves to dig and throw plants around. I watched for a while and then decided she was ok on her own. I started to run around looking for more of those red squishy balls and sticks while Ann kept telling me stories about Torre and Matty. Sounds like Torre knows a lot about dogs and Matty is his new friend. I’m so excited to meet them!

Ann and I went into the house. She said she had to switch the laundry. These humans have so many machines; loud ones, quiet ones, moving ones, some smell good, some chase me when I’m scared, I’m not sure how they get anything done during the day. They are always worrying about their machines.  I think I like the laundry machine! Ann opened this big box and took out clothes. They were warm! Ann let me lay on them while she put more clothes in the box machine. I like warm. I like soft. This machine can stay.

Next thing I know Ann is asking, “Who’s here”? I jumped up to see, and it was Greg, he was home from work! As soon as he saw me, he picked me up and greeted me with “Hi Little Man”! I like that name. I like Doc too. I wonder if everyone has so many names? All of a sudden, I heard Ann say again, “Who’s here”? I heard doors close and voices. One of those voices was Greg, he said “Hi Torre”, I guess the other voice was Torre.

WOW is Torre’s voice big. I hope he’s not as big as he sounds. I heard him calling for Matty. Either Matty doesn’t hear very well or he decided to explore and forgot his name, because Torre has to call him a few times before I saw them both come through the door.

I was so excited to see Torre and Matty, Ann had to run to get to the door before me. I heard Torre call my name. He already knows me. Wait, that smell is familiar. I KNOW TORRE!!!!! He was there when I was born. I didn’t get to see him. He was gone before the bright came, but I remember him.  He is as big as his voice!

HE might be big but his hands are gentle. He bent down and ruffled my ears and asked if I was ready to meet my brother Matty.  Before I could answer this REALLY big tan puppy was all bouncy and wanting to play. At least I think he was a puppy. He was twice my size. I heard Torre tell the Powers that Matty was a Bullmastiff and 4 weeks older than me. I’m not so sure about Torre anymore. What if everything is as big as Torre and Matty? I don’t think I’m ready for Torre and Matty.

Turns out Ann was worried too. She told Torre that Matty was too big to play with me, I might get hurt. Torre just calmly suggested we go for a walk in the field and let everyone get used to each other. So, Ann grabbed my rope leash and off we went. I hid behind Ann for a while. Matty keep trying to jump on me to play, I might have barked at him to tell him STOP!  Matty just kept playing.  He’s so big!  He’s not as big as Mom and Dad but he’s bigger than any other puppy I’ve seen. He must be special.

Finally, we stopped and sat in the grass. That’s when it happened! Matty saw an opening and he took it! HE JUMPED RIGHT ON TOP OF ME! Well, I’m a big dog too and I can jump! So, I jumped on Matty! I’m not sure what happened next but boy was it fun! Jumping and running and biting and chasing, this was the best day ever!

I like Matty, he’s my best friend now. We played for 2 days! Well, it felt like 2 days. We ran and played so hard that we just fell in the grass to rest. I had so much fun with Matty! I really hope I can play with him again! It was when were resting I noticed it was getting darker outside. Good, that means it’s almost time for kibble. I’m hungry today!

Torre called for Matty and put him in a different moving machine, and then picked me up and looked me right in the eye and said, “You’re a special pup Doc. You are going to do great things in your life. I’ll see you soon Bubba.”  I don’t what Torre meant but he sounded serious. I hope I can do these great things…
