Doc’s Journey - Spa Day

I feel like Greg! I get up in the morning and then Torre comes and takes me on adventures. I think I will call it work, but I don’t want the coffee. Today after Torre came for me, Matty and I played with Laika and Kip and just as we were ready for our morning nap, I heard Torre say, “Great, we’ll see you then for a spa day for the boys”. Hmmm, wonder what that could be? So far all of our adventures have been fun so I think this will be to.

After our nap Torre put us in his moving machine and off, we went. When we got out, we were at this really big building. They have weird walls. You can see through some of them but don’t try to walk through it. You just kinda bunce off. I had to wait for Torre to open one of those walls and then I could go in the building.

Wow! It was like being outside, but we were inside. It was confusing. There was green grass like stuff on the floors and more machines making more noise. There weren’t many people here, just one person and she knew Torre too.

She came over to Matty and me and sat right down on that green stuff. Matty seemed to know who she was, cause he just walked right over and let her pat him. I don’t remember that smell so she’s new to me. Turns out she has gentle hands too. I really like when humans have gentle hands.

Then it went bad! Not end of the world bad, but close! She picked up Matty and put him in a box. That box had a little bit of water in it and a pipe that had water running out of it! Once Matty was in that box this girl put smelly, bubbly stuff on him and scrubbed him good. He didn’t look like it bothered him but I could tell he was close to death. Why wasn’t Torre doing anything about this? At least it didn’t last long, but then she grabbed a towel and started fluffing him. Matty is not a fluffy dog, what is she thinking?

Once he was released from that box and towel he was able to run around on that green stuff. So, it wasn’t too bad. We played for a while. That girl sat on the green stuff with us again and Matty cuddled on her lap. I thought it was a good idea to cuddle too. I WAS WRONG! She picked me up and put ME in that box of water death. I kept trying to jump out and save myself but she made sure I as good and stuck! Same smelly bubbly stuff too, Yuck I smell like a girl! Oh, oh wait, tummy rubs! OK, the tummy rubs are ok but everything else is not! Again, it didn’t last long and she tried to fluff me with a towel too. I don’t think she’s very smart cause I’m not a fluffy dog either.

When I went to look for Torre he was standing near a machine. It wasn’t very big and had a black snake thing attached to it. Then it turned on. IT BLOWS AT ME! I do not like this place at all! Water boxes, blowing snakes, what other scary things are hiding here?

OK, so maybe it’s not all bad. Turns out, this girl has a HUGE stash of treats. Torre kept giving me treats and telling me what a big brave dog I am. He called me a dog, not a pup! See, 2 weeks older and I am a dog!

Matty and I got to run around and tackle and chew for a while before Torre said we needed to go for another ride. I like it that Torre takes us everywhere with him. Into the moving machine we go. I am kinda sleepy. These moving machines are a good place for naps. When we stopped, I was home with Ann and Greg. Greg picked me up and put me back in my bed I was so tired. When I woke up for my kibble Torre was gone. I hope I go back to work tomorrow. Even scary adventures are fun with Torre.
