What Are We ‘Pup’ To?

The men and women of Dogs2DogTags are on a mission to save our veterans one dog at a time. As we continue to grow our mission, we’re raising money to improve our offices and build kennels so our organization can run more efficiently.

Barking New Ground:

We purchased the property with our training facility and office early in 2022. These original facilities didn’t have bathrooms, heat, or kennels. Formerly, the dogs in training would stay with Torre–who would sometimes house up to 8 dogs at a time–or the dogs stay with a foster pawrent. Our organization is growing and our current facilities aren’t able to meet our needs anymore. Barking new ground is a crucial part of our expansion plan. We plan to build 12 dog kennels on our grounds. Though most of the kennels are reserved for dogs in training, some kennels will be reserved for temporary boarding for veterans at risk of losing their dogs due to addiction rehabilitation, suicide and/or inpatient treatment, and legal requirements. The kennels will be big enough to house two dogs each and will be a much more sustainable option for us and them. Ideally, we can house and train 16 dogs at once on our property.

Expanding Our Facilities:

To work towards our goals for our organization, we’re expanding our facilities! Our original training facilities didn’t have a bathroom, kitchen, or even heat. As you can imagine, it’s “ruff” to operate a growing organization in Wisconsin without heat or bathrooms. In addition to these improvements, we’re also adding a veterinary room for the dogs. We’ll be able to run Dogs2DogTags better than ever with these new additions!

Although we’re in the process of renovations, we haven’t hit “paws” on our mission! We’re still training dogs, matching them with veterans, and supporting our mission. Like our facilities, we’re excited to grow and have the ability to help more veterans.

We’re over the moon to know that these additions mean we can make a bigger impact in the veteran community. These renovations are necessary to continue to serve those who have served for us.
