Doc’s Journey - New Adventures

Morning Ann

Morning Ann

Wow! I must have fallen asleep because the next thing I knew, it was morning and Greg was talking about making coffee. I’m not sure what coffee is, but he drank it while I ate my breakfast.

Then we went outside and he brought me to another building.  Greg has his toys all over that big building! He let me run around while he was playing with his toys doing what human Dads do. I don’t really know what human stuff is so I just did my dog stuff. I followed him, everywhere! That’s dog stuff, right?  Greg goes a lot of places in his toy building. There were different smells and machines and things for me to chew on! Although he might have told me to “stop chewing on that” or “get that out of your mouth” a couple of times. So many rules in the toy building.

We finally went back to the home building and Ann was so happy to see me she gave me kisses and hugs until I squirmed free. She was doing something with human clothes. I wanted to play in them cause they were warm and smelled so good, but Ann kept picking me up an putting me down. She said something about she can’t fold the clothes Kiddo, there’s another name, KIDDO.  After she got done with the folding, we got in the truck machine, that’s what Greg called it. I like Greg’s truck machine.

We rode in the truck machine for a little while and ended up at a place with a bunch of people and other dogs. I wanted to run and play because the dogs reminded me of my Mom and Dad, but Ann said “Maybe next time Buddy, you’re just a bit too small” Too small? I’m 9 weeks old, remember? I’m basically a big boy just small for my age! Everyone was so friendly! The girls let me kiss their face, but the guys would hold me up and say “Look at those paws! You’re gonna be a Big Boy!”  What do my paws have to do with me being a big boy? I’m already 9 weeks old! These humans just don’t get it! We stayed until there was no more music and all the other people and dogs went home. Then we got in Greg’s truck machine and went home too.

The days are busy at the Powers. Ann is a school teacher and I get to stay home with her all day. Greg leaves really early but he always says, “See you later Fella!” (There’s another name, FELLA) Ann sits and talks to a bunch of kids, I guess for her job. She keeps telling the kids that someday I will have an important job too. I don’t know what a job is but it sounds very important. Sometimes Ann picks me up and I guess the kids can see me because I can hear them! Some of those kids sound like squeaker toys, and some are just LOUD! Mostly I hear “Awwwww, he’s soooooooo cute”. I really Like it here at Ann and Greg’s house.

One day I saw Ann talking into this thing she held up to her head. She was talking to someone named Chelsea. Ann said she is my human sister. I get to meet her and her human man, Steven. They have a dog named Lani. I guess she is my sister now too. I haven’t met the yet but they sound fun. I love meeting new people! My family is growing and I didn’t even know it! I miss my Jeff and Mom and Dad, but the Powers make me feel loved and happy, so I’m ok until I see them again.
